Governor Vetoes Mediation Program Funding Bill

LOS ANGELES - A bill aimed at increasing funding for community mediation has received a veto from Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

State Sen. Mark Ridley-Thomas, D-Los Angeles, wrote SB 1177, which would have raised an estimated $5 million for mediation programs through a $5 increase in filing fees on all civil cases.
