State Court Reverses Itself on Juveniles

Overturning its own highly controversial 1994 decision on warrantless police searches, the California Supreme Court ruled Thursday that an otherwise illegal search of a juvenile cannot be justified after the fact when officers later discover that the suspect is on probation.
