Outcomes Split in Peruvian Asylum Bids
SAN FRANCISCO - A Peruvian man linked to the torture of members of a violent left-wing political group lost his bid for asylum in the United States Tuesday, while a Peruvian woman who claimed to be persecuted by the same group, the Shining Path, won asylum from a divided federal appeals court panel.
