In the morning, I learned that a major brief I had written achieved the desired result for a corporate client, and in the afternoon I received word that a pro bono client living in a battered women's shelter finally would begin receiving public benefits. One case was worth potentially millions of dollars, and the other resulted in a few hundred dollars a month plus food stamps. I can't say which victory made me happier.
