Countering Profit Squeeze

By now, firms may have completed at least an initial draft of a financial plan for 2002. Perhaps the managing partner has strongly suggested the need for an increase in the firm's bottom line of 20 percent or so. This is no small task for many firms, particularly those that are currently faced with a classic profit squeeze - a deteriorating revenue base along with increased salaries, rent, technology costs and other expenses.
