Working Together

The National Labor Relations Board has ruled that an employee-participation program that involved all workers in the company's decision-making process did not violate federal prohibitions on the establishment of "employer dominated unions." Crown Cork & Seal Co., 334 NLRB No. 92 (July 20, 2001). The board reached this conclusion after finding that the company had effectively delegated to the committees the authority to operate the plant within certain parameters.
