Council Seeks $11 Million for New Court Workers

SAN FRANCISCO - Responding to judges' complaints that counties are increasingly abandoning basic maintenance and oversight of the trial courts, the state Judicial Council on Thursday agreed to seek funding for 59 new employees to handle additional staff work created by state funding of the trial courts and unification of the superior and municipal courts.
