Clear Need

On the day that it left Washington for its summer recess, the U.S. Supreme Court granted certiorari in a case that has occupied the federal courts of California and Nevada for more than a decade and a half and has resulted in four published decisions by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The most recent is Tahoe-Sierra Preservation Council v. Tahoe Regional Planning Agency , 216 F.3d 764, reh'g denied, 228 F.3d 998 (9th Cir.2000), cert. granted, 121 S.Ct.2589 (2001).
