Tiny, tiny particles - so small they are called microspheres - are at the center of a big biotechnology legal battle. BioSphere Medical Inc. of Rockland, Mass., uses the bioengineered particles, which can be comprised of several materials, to attack fibroid tumors in women. Artes Medical USA Inc. of San Diego uses the particles to fill wrinkles.
