30 years late, State Bar to be notified of attorneys' arrests
Nearly three decades after legislation required it do so, the State Bar plans to sign a contract with the California Department of Justice to be notified when licensed lawyers are arrested. The bar will also receive automatic alerts when its members are convicted of crimes.

Nearly 30 years after legislation required it do so, the State Bar plans to sign a contract with the California Department of Justice to be notified when licensed lawyers are arrested.
The bar will also receive automatic alerts when one of its members is convicted of a crime. The deal will only apply to lawyers licensed after the agreement is signed, not the more than 185,000 active bar members.<...
