Jury convicts former baseball star of 14 insider trading felonies

The jury hung on all charges against co-defendant corporate executive James Mazzo, ending seven days of deliberation after a two-month trial. They convicted a third defendant on three fraud counts.

SANTA ANA — A jury convicted retired Major League Baseball player Douglas DeCinces of 14 counts of tender offer fraud on Friday but hung on all charges against corporate executive James Mazzo, ending seven days of deliberation after a two-month trial.
