Laws give California workers more protection from retaliation

Two new California laws that became effective this year provide important protections for California employees. To strengthen existing legal protections against employer reprisal for workers who assert their rights, Assembly Bill 263 and Senate Bill 666 expand the grounds for a finding of retaliation, increase penalties for retaliation, and prohibit retaliation by any person acting on behalf of an employer.
