Arbitrator awards $5.4 million to sales employees in medical device case

The sales workers - two of 14 in a similar role who left the company - expressed concerns about the devices efficacy and resigned in 2010. They then sued Masimo for wrongful termination.

Two former sales employees of the Masimo Corp. received an award of $5.4 million in an arbitration based on claims the company required them to sell ineffective medical devices, forcing them to resign.


The Irvine-based company addressed the case in its annual earning statements last week, vowing to ask a federal judge to overturn the award.
