The state Supreme Court clarified Monday a 114-year-old employee rest day law they considered "manifestly ambiguous," but the justices arguably kept some ambiguity in navigating it.
Justice Kathryn Werdegar authored a 7-0 opinion that employers must give full-time, non-exempt workers a day off for each seven-day workweek, but need not provide a day off every seven days on a rolling basis.
