Bar examiners renew push to eliminate unaccredited schools

However, the unaccredited schools have defenders who say they provide a low-cost option for those who can't attend school full time.

The Committee of Bar Examiners is renewing its push to phase out the state's unaccredited law schools, which typically have had low bar exam passage rates and substantial student attrition.

The panel is also seeking to allow online, distance-learning schools to secure accreditation for the first time.
