LOS ANGELES — Defense attorney Bart Williams in the Johnson & Johnson baby powder trial Thursday sought to debunk a pathologist’s findings that talc found in dying plaintiff Eva Echeverria’s ovaries caused inflammation leading to cancer.

Echeverria is the first California plaintiff to take her case to trial against the pharmaceutical company that has lost four out of five jury trials totaling more than $300 million in damages.
