OCTOBER 2017 TERM

The U.S. Supreme Court has recently granted certiorari to hear Lamar, Archer & Cofrin LLP v. Appling, 16-1215, which involves an exception to the Bankruptcy Code's general dischargability statutes. In Appling, the high court will address whether a particular debt obtained by fraud is dischargeable under 11 U.S.C. Section 523(a)(2).
