Should you rush to file your taxes or get an extension?
Individual tax returns are usually due April 15, but this year you get until April 17. Should you rush to file on time or go on extension? Rushing can lead to mistakes, and all returns are filed under penalties of perjury.

An extension to file is automatic. The Internal Revenue Service does not have to approve it. You just get the extra six months. Extensions used to be four months, with two additional months for a good reason.
