Religious rulings under the new Gorsuch-Roberts court

In 1533, England passed a law making "buggery" a capital offense. The law had been championed by Thomas Cromwell as a measure to improve the morals of a society wracked by religious strife and by poverty and the crimes that attend hopelessness and desperation.

In 1540, Cromwell was executed for treason. I could not help thinking of Cromwell as I read the religion cases that have marked the Roberts Supreme Court.
