More attorneys allowed to do international arbitrations in California
On July 18, Gov. Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 766 into law, adding several sections to the Code of Civil Procedure to permit more non-California attorneys to engage in international commercial disputes.

On July 18, Gov. Jerry Brown signed Senate Bill 766 into law, adding several sections to the Code of Civil Procedure to permit more non-California attorneys to engage in international commercial disputes. Specifically, this bill adds Article 1.5 to Chapter 5 of Title 9.3 of Part 3 to the Civil Procedure Code. SB 766 is intended to expand the use of legal services in international commercial arbitrations and is effective Jan. 1, 2019.
