Judicial discipline body allows more extensive discovery

Judges accused of misconduct can now subpoena non-parties during formal proceedings, the Commission on Judicial Performance said Monday.

Judges accused of misconduct will be able to subpoena non-parties during formal proceedings as part of a new rule announced Monday by the Commission on Judicial Performance.

During formal proceedings, instituted when the commission charges a judge with misconduct, both parties can conduct discovery.
