Facebook, Inc. has settled a class action by advertisers alleging the social media giant inflated the time users spent watching videos, sometimes by as much as nine times, for $40 million.
Despite admitting it mistakenly misrepresented viewership data, attorneys representing the advertisers likely faced an uphill battle in proving damages, according to a legal expert.
