Despite snag in employee pay data reporting, pay transparency marches on
Sen. Hannah-Beth Jackson earlier this year. In January, Sen. Jackson introduced California Senate Bill 171. Mirroring the EEO-1 Report Component 2 mandate, the state bill would require private employers with at least 100 employees to submit an annual report of employee pay data broken down by race, ethnicity and sex within specified job categories. The state legislative session ended last month with the bill still in the Appropriation Committe's "Suspense File." It remains unclear whether she will reintroduce the bill next session.
