US high court won’t hear Arizona-California tax spat

Arizona attempted to challenge California’s $800 minimum franchise tax on limited liability companies alleged to be doing business in California. The tax is applied to companies whose activities exceed set limits, established by that tax law, for property ownership, compensation or sales in California.

The U.S. Supreme Court said Monday it will not consider a case brought by Arizona against California alleging an interstate business tax applied to Arizona firms and individuals is unconstitutional.
