Cashier seat trial against Ralphs first since 2016 state high court ruling
“Ralphs didn’t want to settle,” Andre E. Jardini, who represented the cashier, said in an interview Thursday. “Most every other company that’s been sued about seating for cashiers has settled, and as part of every one of those settlements, they have agreed to provide seating.”





Cashiers at Southern California supermarket chain Ralphs must constantly move to do their jobs, so the company is not violating the California Wage Order by refusing to give them seats at their workstations, a Los Angeles County judge ruled.
