Father-son legal team win $120M verdict, defense got terminating sanctions
Before the jury took less than an hour to unanimously award Equihua $120 million Wednesday, Riverside defense attorney Scott Brian Spriggs of Kinkle, Rodiger & Spriggs APC and Orange County attorney Richard McFarlane had been slapped with a number of sanctions relating to discovery violations. Neither responded to multiple requests for comment.




After defense counsel didn't show up for trial, subjecting themselves to terminating and other sanctions, the Lancaster father-son duo of Rex and Khail Parris obtained a $120 million jury verdict for a man seriously injured by a distracted driver.
