Public defenders in Los Angeles county say they may strike

Overwhelmed by a heavy workload, the public defenders say they are afraid to speak up for fear of retaliation.

Overwhelmed by their current caseloads, Los Angeles County deputy public defenders continue to ask for a temporary reprieve by designating their office as unavailable for more cases, but grumblings of a possible strike and other tactics are starting to surface.
