Tesla wins defense verdict in nation’s 1st Autopilot wrongful death trial

RIVERSIDE -- Tesla prevailed Tuesday in the nation's first Autopilot wrongful death civil trial against claims that a design defect caused a fatal car crash.

The 9-3 jury decision came after four days of deliberation and three weeks of evidence, which began Sept. 28, before Riverside County Superior Court Judge Christopher B. Harmon.
