Panel skeptical of FBI’s rationale for safety deposit searches

A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel appeared to take a dim view last week of government arguments defending an FBI search of hundreds of safety deposit boxes in Beverly Hills.
Attorneys for the class argued the search violated the Fourth Amendment in a lawsuit, but U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner ruled in the government’s favor.
