Woman who accused horse trainer of rape wins $9M

“It was some vindication for her to have a judge actually say this man raped her. In a small way, it could help her begin healing,” said the woman’s attorney, Randall E. Strauss.

An Alameda County Superior Court judge awarded $9 million in damages to a woman who said a horse trainer drugged and raped her at an equestrian event in Berkeley.

Randall E. Strauss, managing partner of Gwilliam, Ivary, Chiosso, Cavalli & Brew in Oakland, represented the woman known in court documents as a Jane Doe. Doe v. The Stronach Group et al., 22CV005139, (Alameda Cty. Sup. Ct. filed Jan. 07, 2022)
