Startup sued by 120-year-old fruit company over patented strawberry varieties

A former UC Davis professor is accused of using varieties without permission.

A 120-year-old fruit company is seeking to compel a startup founded by a former UC Davis professor to release financial data in a case over patented strawberry varieties.

Driscoll Inc. sued Dr. Douglas Shaw and California Berry Cultivars, LLC four years ago.
