Tesla accused of hazardous emissions at Fremont factory

The primary source of the pollutants is believed to be two paint shops located at the factory.

Clean energy pioneer Tesla Inc. was sued by an environmental group for alleged violations of the Clean Air Act arising from the release of harmful pollutants at its Fremont plant.

The lawsuit, filed by Oakland-based Environmental Democracy Project in the Northern District of California, accuses the electric vehicle manufacturer of repeatedly exposing residents in neighborhoods surrounding the factory to chemicals including nitrogen oxides, arsenic and cadmium.
