9th Circuit revives some of California, Hawaii, "sensitive places" gun limits
An opinion by 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Susan P. Graber described the difficulties of deciding whether states may "ban firearms in museums but not churches; in restaurants but not hospitals; in libraries but not banks."
In a decision that aimed to grapple with the somewhat murky guidance offered by the U.S. Supreme Court in a 2022 Second Amendment decision, a 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel on Friday revived parts of California and Hawaii laws restricting firearms in some "sensitive spaces" but not in others.
