SF city attorney's office seeks reconsideration of elder abuse class certification
Superior Court Judge Andrew Y.S. Cheng granted class certification on July 26, but government attorneys argue "new declarations" made in the weeks since warrant reconsideration of his decision.
A deputy San Francisco City Attorney asked a San Francisco judge on Tuesday to reconsider his decision to certify two classes in an elder abuse case filed in the wake of a 2019 report that alleged patients at Laguna Honda Hospital had intimate photos distributed without their consent. The city says the lead plaintiff has "no claim whatsoever under either class."
