Pfizer accused of not noting brain tumor danger on drug label

The lawsuit claimed that medroxyprogesterone acetate, sold under the brand name Depo-Provera, substantially contributed to the plaintiff developing a type of brain tumor 17 years after being given the drug by Planned Parenthood.

Pfizer Inc. was hit with a consumer fraud and breach of warranty lawsuit on Tuesday that claims it manufactured and marketed a drug used to treat a uterine disease though the company knew it caused brain tumors.
