Defense Department to streamline discharge upgrades for 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' veterans
The Department of Defense settled with some 30,000 veterans discharged under "Don't Ask Don't Tell," offering streamlined discharge upgrades and removal of sexual orientation indicators from records.





The Department of Defense agreed to settle a putative class action Monday with more than 30,000 LGBTQ+ veterans who said references in their discharge papers to their sexual orientation should be removed.
Most of the putative plaintiffs were discharged from the military under the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy implemented by President Bill Clinton.
