Disbarred attorney granted compassionate release
Paul O. Paradis, a disbarred attorney involved in the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power litigation scandal, has been granted compassionate release after serving 12 months of a 33-month sentence. Paradis, recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor, had been instrumental in aiding FBI and State Bar investigations into others implicated in the corruption.




A disbarred attorney who admitted his role in corrupt litigation that stemmed from a faulty water billing scandal in Los Angeles will soon be released from prison to serve the rest of his sentence at home while he recovers from surgery to remove a brain tumor, his counsel said on Wednesday.
