Jury clears Apple, Shyamalan of $81M copyright claim for 'Servant'
Apple and M. Night Shyamalan were found not liable for $81M in copyright claims in a case involving "Servant." A jury ruled no infringement on Francesca Gregorini's "The Truth About Emanuel" after a seven-day trial.





Apple Inc. and filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan were cleared of $81 million copyright claims after a jury in Riverside found they did not steal expressive elements from an independent filmmaker when they produced the first three episodes of "Servant."
Following a seven-day trial, the jury deliberated all of Friday and delivered the unanimous verdict to U.S. District Judge Sunshine S. Sykes later that evening.
