Amazon settles for $600K over mercury-laced skin cream sales
California Attorney General Rob Bonta has reached a $600,000 settlement with Amazon over the sale of skin-lightening creams containing dangerously high mercury levels. The agreement, which includes penalties, legal fees, and new product safety measures, resolves allegations under Proposition 65 and the Unfair Competition Law. Amazon has also committed to stricter oversight to prevent similar products from being sold in California.
