Apple won summary judgment in a San Francisco federal court against a claim the sound of an Amber Alert through Air Pods was so loud a child suffered hearing loss.

A San Francisco federal judge granted summary judgment in favor of Apple in a product liability lawsuit filed by parents who claimed their 12-year-old son suffered permanent hearing damage after listening to the sound of a high-pitched Amber Alert through a pair of AirPods.

Apple's attorneys said summary judgment was warranted because the plaintiffs' liability theory was based on a novel theory of law that has "never been reported anywhere" in medical journals. ...
