An attorney leading the charge against Chiquita Canyon Landfill said on Monday that the waste company's sudden closure last week will have little to no effect on the mass tort litigation that it has been defending since 2023.

Additionally, amendments to the original complaint that initiated the now-consolidated civil liability action were filed on Friday in response to the judge's instruction during a dismissal stage of the case last year.
