Judge to hear environmental claims first in Santa Ana short-term rental ban challenge
An Orange County Superior Court judge severed and advanced CEQA claims in a lawsuit challenging Santa Ana's citywide short-term-rental ban, saying judicial economy favors addressing environmental issues before other claims.





A legal challenge to Santa Ana's sweeping ban on short-term rentals will move forward on environmental grounds first, after Orange County Superior Court Judge Melissa R. McCormick ruled that judicial economy favors resolving the California Environmental Quality Act claims ahead of the others.
