What prompted you to go into ADR? The ill-advised policy of the Judicial Council in 2002 which precluded retired judges from participating both in the Assigned Judges program and in private dispute resolution. My hope had been to continue serving the Superior Court on assignment, but regrettably could not do so without considerable financial sacrifice.
