Attorney General Bill Lockyer announced Friday that Mary Jo Graves, a specialist in DNA evidentiary issues, will be the new chief of the Department of Justice's criminal division.
Graves' arguments before the state Supreme Court in People v. Venegas helped produce a 1998 landmark decision on the admissibility of DNA evidence.
