LIBERTY MEDIA TAKES CONTROL OF OPENTV

Liberty Media Corp. will acquire MIH Limited's controlling ownership in OpenTV Corp. The deal, announced May 8, is worth $185 million. Englewood, Colo.'s Liberty Media has a stake in a variety of cable channels, including Discovery Channel, E! and QVC. It also is one of the largest shareholders of News Corp., owning 18 percent.
