Secret Settlements Bill Weakened

SACRAMENTO - For weeks, Sen. Martha Escutia, D-Whittier, has resisted pressure from the high-tech industry to weaken her bill to ban secret settlements in product liability, unfair insurance claims and environmental hazards. She agreed to a compromise Thursday.
