Airlines Not Immune From Personal Injury Suits

SAN FRANCISCO - Overruling two precedents, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals held Monday that the federal Airline Deregulation Act does not immunize airlines from "run-of-the-mill" personal injury lawsuits filed by passengers and others.
