Jury awards $10M in car accident, but victim will only get half

A Los Angeles Superior Court jury awarded $10 million to a man who was struck by a speeding teenager in La Puente while making an unsafe U-turn. The man will only recoup $5 million since the jury found him equally at fault as the defendant.

A La Puente man whom doctors said lost seven years of his life and is likely to develop Alzheimer's disease after being struck by a driver in 2014 has been awarded $10 million by a Los Angeles County Superior Court jury, but will get only half because he was found to have been equally at fault.
