2nd District panel protects alleged defamer's identity

Terms like "whistle-blow" and "burned" did not sufficiently prove libel, the panel ruled.

Though a special effects company's defamation suit is moving forward, a ruling published Tuesday by a 2nd District Court of Appeal panel will prevent the company from identifying the John Doe who allegedly defamed them.
