FTC readies case against Brookstone Law, COO
Within hours of the Federal Trade Commission raiding Brookstone Law PC in Santa Ana on suspicion of illegal promises and advance payments for foreclosure relief litigation, the chief operating officer allegedly fled the scene, pulled $27,500 out of accounts subject to asset freezes, and ordered employees to shut down the firm's computer servers to impede the investigation, according to documents filed Monday by the commission.
